Plumbing Tips for Saving Money
Everyone wants to save a bit of money here and there, so why not start with your plumbing and heating. You may not know, but faulty boilers and plumbing are one of the biggest causes of losing money.
We spend so much money on fixing boilers because we didn’t get them serviced when we should have. We also waste a lot of money on limescale, which again, most people don’t realise. Limescale will stop your appliances from working efficiently, meaning they won’t be cost effective.
So, here are some of my tips on how to save money…
– Turn off those dripping taps! – This can waste up to 15 gallons of water per day and could add approximately £70+ to your yearly water bill. It may not sound like a lot, but when you’re saving £70 a year, you’re saving £700 every 10 years. If a fully closed tap continues to leak, get it repaired as soon as you can to save you more money.
– Don’t neglect your drains! – We seem to forget about our drains until they come clogged up or stop working like they should. In the bathroom, use strainers in your shower or bathtub to keep the hair out of your pipes and avoid using harsh, chemical drain cleaners as they can do more damage than good. If you need your pipes cleaned, contact a professional before it’s too late.
– Treat your limescale correctly! – Have our blue water conditioner installed! It’s a common mistake that limescale is only bad when it’s in our kettles or washing machines. However, limescale in your pipes and sinks is one of the biggest causes of wasted energy in the world. With our appliance, we could save you around £600 a year for up to 20 years! – Can you believe it?
